Transnational Network of Young Women for a Ecological Just and Social Transition which aims to create an urban-rural ecosystem that makes it possible, on the basis of relations between young people, to bring together different approaches, perspectives and realities. JOIN aims to create a space for transnational cooperation between young women through channels that enable the development of joint processes of participation and advocacy, generating actions that specifically promote the empowerment, leadership and civic and political action of young rural women. It builds a favourable framework to devise, innovate and promote initiatives that build solutions to the socio-environmental challenges facing our society, aiming towards more inclusive, fair, egalitarian and sustainable scenarios.

About JOIN

JOIN is a transnational network of young women for a just and social ecological transition. A space to devise, innovate and promote initiatives that build solutions to the socio-environmental challenges our society is facing, and that lead us towards more inclusive, just, egalitarian and sustainable stages.

Join´s Objective

To create an urban-rural ecosystem that makes it possible, on the basis of relations between young people, to bring together different approaches, outlooks and realities.

Why JOIN is necessary?

Inequalities affecting young women pose a serious political, social and economic risk: generational, territorial and educational divides lead to exclusion. JOIN follows the principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights as a guide towards a strong, fair, inclusive and opportunity-filled social Europe.

Participating organisations

These are the organisations participating in the project

Tou Play (Italy)

It is an NGO based in southern Italy, in the town of Palo del Colle, and close to the city of Bari (Italy) where they have two other offices. It was created after an action of Contamination Lab EU of both universities in Bari and was created with the aim of transmitting culture and history to young people and tourists in a new, more interactive and enjoyable way, far from traditional forms of education, using group games, exploration and non-formal education as tools, encouraging integration, interaction and the discovery of new cultures.

Filoxenia (Greece)

Greek intercultural-environmental organisation with a strong tradition of volunteer and youth work in Greece. Promotes interest and concern for the protection of the environment and ecology, as well as the promotion of ecological and agricultural tourism. It also promotes interculturalism and understanding between citizens and the sustainable development of rural areas. It promotes the mobility of young people and adults in Europe and beyond through EU and international youth programmes. It also functions as an information point for young people and farmers.

Gaia (Portugal)

Grupo de Acçao e Intervençao Ambienta is a Portuguese environmental NGO working with young people aged 12-17 and 18-30, local producers and ecological projects in the field of Agroecological Education, Forestry, Regional Networking and Communication. Their mission is to promote ecological lifestyles through learning experiences in the context of climate urgency. Together with them we want to visualise a Europe inhabited by people, collectives and communities aware of the climate emergency and committed to the regeneration of the natural environment.

Murcia City Council (Spain)

The Concejalía de Juventud del Ayuntamiento de Murcia is the coordinating organisation of the project. The Department is a municipal service whose main purpose is to respond to the real needs of young people in town. Among its main functions are: to promote the participation of young people in all socio-cultural areas of their environment and of the municipality; to promote the development of programmes and activities to raise awareness of tolerance, solidarity and participation in public life; to encourage, promote and promote the cultural and artistic interests of young people in Murcia.
